Is hyaluronic acid filler safe for treating tear troughs?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are a safe and an effective for treatment for the skin and volume loss. Their main component, hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance that exists in our bodies. As a result there is no significant risk of any allergic reactions. For additional safety, our specially trained nurses use the cannula method to distribute the under eye filler. A cannula is a blunt needle with no sharp edges. This method is an advanced technique which greatly improves the recovery time of this treatment by significantly reducing the occurrence of swelling and bruising. After treatment there is no down time and you can continue normally with your day to day activities with minor restrictions.

How does under-eye filler work?

A specially trained health care practitioner will conduct a proper assessment of the under-eye area to ensure you are a good candidate for treatment. Other areas of your face will be studied to assess the source of volume loss as at times other areas may need to be treated to support the under-eye as well. Once this treatment is deemed appropriate for you your health care practitioner will use a hyaluronic acid based dermal filler using the cannula method to soften the appearance of the under eye area. Hyaluronic acid helps to improve hydration, soften fine lines and improve the appearance of the skin. You will see immediate improvement of the treated area and results will continue to improve over the next 4 weeks.

Who is a suitable candidate for tear trough fillers?

Individuals with mild to moderate under-eyes hollowness can generally be deemed good candidates. Other factors that need to be assessed for a good result are individuals that have:  ‍

-Healthy skin that has a firm texture. ‍
-Natural anatomy with good underlying structure ‍
-No contraindicating medical conditions or medications. ‍
